Advancing Latino Knowledge & Narrative

Strategic Communications & Learning Consultant

Context:

The Racial Equity Initiative is a strategic line of work within UnidosUS -the largest Latino civil rights organization in the U.S.- dedicated to advancing Latino knowledge production and ensuring its sustained presence in the national narrative. The initiative works across research, culture, education, and community collaboration to elevate Latino voices, broaden access to knowledge creation, and embed Latino experience as central -not peripheral- to America’s cultural and intellectual fabric.

The initiative strengthens cross-sector understanding of Latino knowledge as a systemic asset, advancing a future where Latino experience and expertise shape national scholarship, policy, and public dialogue.

My Role & Contributions:

As a consultant to UnidoUS, I supported the development and amplification of the initiative’s mission through strategic storytelling, content development, and learning communications. Key contributions include:

Strategic Content & Narrative Development:

  • Developed blog articles and written features highlighting knowledge equity themes, community-centered research, and cultural narrative work

  • Crafted internal and external messaging aligned to initiative goals, voice, and brand

Learning & Communication Assets

  • Produced two-pagers, program overviews, and funder-facing briefs

  • Designed infographics, visual explainers, and initiative frameworks

  • Created slide decks for leadership presentations and stakeholder briefings

  • Supported event and initiative marketing materials

Grant & Impact Support:

  • Contributed content for grant proposals, narrative framing, and outcomes language

  • Collaborated on the three-year impact narrative, mapping evolution, accomplishments, and future strategic priorities

Value to L&D & Strategic Communications:

This consulting engagement reflects core strengths that translate directly to organizational capability-building and learning leadership:

  • Research-to-practice communication

  • Equity-centered storytelling and instructional messaging

  • Multi-audience content strategy

  • Grant & impact narrative development
